Mental health training is important for Australian businesses because it can help to improve employee wellbeing, productivity, and retention. Mental health problems are common in Australia, with one in five Australian adults (16-85yrs) experiencing a mental health condition in any given year. These conditions can have a significant impact on work, leading to absenteeism, presenteeism, and turnover.
People with a physical injury claim lose, on average, six weeks of work. For psychological claims, the average lost time is 20 weeks. Alarmingly, people who access psychological services after a physical injury are off work for an average of 31 weeks (SIRA).
Mental health training can help employees to understand mental health conditions, identify the signs and symptoms of mental health problems, and develop coping strategies. It can also help employees to feel more comfortable talking about mental health and to seek help if they need it.
Delivered in partnership with our friends at Premier Team Building, we are offering a combined workshop for businesses and organisations to discuss effective mental health leadership, how to develop a psychologically safe environment, what encompasses a high functioning team as well as put your employees through the Standard Mental Health First Aid® course.
Participants cannot attend the face-face sessions unless all e-learning components have been completed. Course dates are subject to instructor availability and in line with our Cancellation & Refund Policy. Where a course is cancelled by Blue Balloon Coaching, participants will be offered the next available course date at no extra cost.
For all e-learning courses, participants must have access to their own internet, laptop and/or tablet. Once payment is made, instructions will be sent to each participant with their unique e-learning voucher code. It is the responsibility of the participant to keep this code safe as replacements may incur an additional fee.
